Happy Feet

Happy Monday,

Give me a black and white any day.  It's such a timeless combo and makes a big impact with minimal work.  As for my shoes, I told you in this post that I am all about pops of neon for spring/summer.  Normally, I am not the type of person to buy the same style shoe in multiple colors. However, for this one, I made an exception because they make my feet happy.  Stay tuned for posts with me wearing the style in neon yellow and classic black.  Because my shoes make such a statement, the rest of the outfit is toned down to allow them to be the center piece of the ensemble.  If you want to give neon colors a try but don't want to go all out, try a clutch, scarf, or a pair of cute stud earrings.  Have a happy week everyone.  Until next time...

Spring Is In the Air

Hello All,

Spring is in the air and I'm all about bright colors and neon.  Once you have a neutral palette, you can pretty much play around with any other colors, prints, or patterns.  As in many of my previous posts, you know that I have a love for florals.  What better way to highlight the beautiful floral print of this blazer than by placing it atop a crisp all white palette?  If you didn't know, white brightens up anything laid against it.  The next time you're painting your nails a bright color, apply an all white coat first and then your color of choice on top.  Waahlah...watch how much brighter your top coat pops.  Continue to enjoy your week.  Until next time...

Two-Tone

Hello All,

It's been a minute but I'm back.  The only thing consistent about Texas weather, is the fact that it's inconsistent.  One minute it's 80 degrees and the next it's rainy, windy, and 40 degrees.  However, it's a pretty good day and I decided to give it a shot, before the weather changes and the wind is darn near blowing my body away.  I am a big fan of the retailer Zara.  The clothing, shoes, and accessories are the bomb.  When I spotted these "Basic" sandals, I had to have them.  The neutral colors are sure to go with any and everything, thereby making them a smart purchase.  Once I bought them I remembered my two-tone blazer, with the same color scheme, that I had nerve worn.  Although I'm not a fan of being too match-matchy, I made an exception to my rule with these two.  If you live near Zara, stop in and try on these shoes.  They are very comfortable, stylish, and classy.  Until next time...

Blue Skies

Hello,

This outfit is all about the blouse.  If you are an H&M shopper you know that they are popular for their "collections."  They basically take a theme (i.e. florals, black/white graphics, tweed, etc.) and build a collection of several different pieces around it.  This blouse came from one of their floral collections and is really beautiful in person.  I have also worn this blouse with burgundy dress pants and it would even be cute with a pair of skinny jeans and pointed toe pumps.  Since the blouse has a notice me print, I normally wouldn't wear a statement necklace with it.  However, after trying to pair it with several different necklaces, this one looked the best.  It's ok to step out of the norm sometimes and be adventurous with your style.  Have a good week everyone.

Two Chainz

Happy Monday,

This is what I wore on a warm afternoon, with a light breeze.  I paired a chain-link print sheer blouse with a pair of camel, seamed riding pants, and of course, heels to seal the deal.  My favorite part of the outfit is my handbag.  I haven't gotten my Chanel bag just yet, so until I do, this Chanel-inspired, quilted handbag will do.  The color is oh so hot and will pair well with almost anything.  Lastly, I couldn't decide which chain-link necklace to wear, so I wore them both.  Thanks for visiting the blog and have a fashionable week.

Aztec and White

Happy Monday,

So the weather was absolutely gorgeous with temps in the 70's, however, one complaint...the wind was a bit much.  Thus, I had to take cover in the stairwell to get some half decent pics.  Sorry guys.  Anyhow, I don't know about you, but I love white jeans.  They can be dressed up with a sequin blazer or casualized (is that a word) with a denim shirt.  Today, I chose to pair an all white palette with an aztec-print sweater that I purchased in Houston a year ago.  I love this sweater.  The hem, print, and colors come together so well.  Hats off to whomever came up with the design.  I'm not a regular Old Navy shopper, but it was my lucky day when I happened upon this baby.  Believe it or not, I have worn it with dress pants and a blouse and the pairing came together just as well.  Hopefully, the wind will be more friendly to me in the coming days.  Have a great week.

Simplicity

Happy Friday,

It really does not get any simpler than black and white.  The colors are understated but can make such a big statement at the same time.  I decided to break up the monotony by adding a hint of color with my Zara shopper tote.  As you can tell from my previous posts, I love me some leather pieces.  I have these pants in two additional colors and the more worn in, the better they feel.  Well, that's all folks.  Thanks for visiting the blog and until next time...

Beware of the Skulls

Happy Tuesday,

This is what I wore on a nice, brisk, sunny afternoon with temperatures in the mid 60's.  Looking for something to wear that allows you to enjoy the breeze, but keeps you warm enough to ditch your jacket?  Try a light-weight knit sweater.  The unexpected pop-factor can be found in the open back, which has black skulls printed all over it. As soon as I saw it, I knew had to have it.  I have a thing for skulls on clothing when they are done in good taste.  Remember when I told you in this post how faux leather is just as good as the real thing, with a much more affordable price tag?  If you could see these shorts in person, you would not believe that they aren't the real deal.  Throw on a pair of black opaque tights and you are good to go.  Lastly, since I'm wearing a neutral color palette, I threw in my neon, coral clutch to spice it up a bit.  Have a good week my friends.  Until next time...

Mint and Hunter Green with Envy

Hello All,

Today I'm wearing a mint green blazer and blouse with a pair of hunter green pants.  These pants have two of my favorite qualities.  They are high-waisted and somewhat scretchy.  One of my pet peeves are pants that constantly ride down your backside or have no elasticity, making them uncomfortable.  I'm honestly starting to believe that I can teach a class on bargain shopping.  I'm not frugal, whatsoever, but I definitely know how to get the best bang for my buck.  This was my first time pairing two of the same colors against each other and I think I like it.  I bought the blazer and blouse almost a year apart and they are a perfect match.  Who says you have to wait until Easter to wear pastels?  Thanks for visiting the blog.  Until next time...
